Illusion of wire bending as it moves

I have found that using small lengths of wire and making hooks to attach them together is better than using the one long piece of wire. My reasoning behind this is that the hook attachments creates a joint, which allows for extra movement within each of the joints, and therefore creates a pull push momentum, because when it has moved as far as it can go in one direction it pulls the wire either above or below or both to move in the opposite direction.
